On Aug. 5, 1980, an electrical fault in a transformer atop the Wort Hotel in Jackson, Wyoming, ignited a bird nest and the flames spread. The fire burned into the night and the roof collapsed. Just days later, a sign went up saying: "We will be back." The hotel reopened in June 1981.
