Famous Fire Buffs through the years include New York Fire Surgeon Harry Archer, Boston Pops Conductor Arthur Fiedler, New York Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia and - legend has it - President George Washington.

On June 16, 1965, the South Platte River flooded. Devastation struck Denver and beyond after several days of record rain. Two dozen people died statewide.
